Georgia State led by as much as 20 in the second half and fought through a furious fightback from Mercer to hand the Bears their first loss of 2020/21 and to avenge their only loss of the season so far, winning at the Sports Arena 88-81.

Georgia State used a 10-0 run late in the second half to take control on the road against Charlotte, winning 76-65 for their first win at Charlotte as a program.

Georgia State (2-1) were out of sync on both sides of the court and couldn’t withstand a hot shooting night from Mercer (3-0), losing in Macon 86-69.

The Georgia State Men’s Basketball team opened up their 2020 home campaign with a 105-60 win over Toccoa Falls College. This game marks the first time that Georgia State has scored 100 or more points in consecutive games since the 1991-92 season.

It took the equivalent of one and a half basketball games, but after four overtimes, Georgia State (1-0) outlasted Georgia Tech (0-1) 123-120 for their first win over their crosstown rival since 1976 and their first-ever win over an ACC opponent.

With a berth in the semifinals in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament on the line, Georgia State couldn’t avenge their loss two weeks ago at home to bitter rival Georgia Southern, who asserted their will on the Sports Arena floor for the second game running in a 81-62 victory.
